Backpack Manna Program
St. Andrews Parish UMC collects non-perishable, easy-to-prepare and ready-to-eat food items for children in need at Oakland Elementary. These children receive lunch at school but have limited access to food over the weekend. Your donations make a big difference. Food donations can be left in the sanctuary on Sundays in the bin provided. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Little Free Library on the Path
In 2016, a congregation member generously donated a Little Free Library to St. Andrews Parish UMC. The library is located in front of the church on the Ashley River Road Bike Path. Books are free to borrow and available for community use. The library also accepts donations from anyone who has a favorite book to share.
Springfield Elementary Mentor Program
We encourage congregation members and the community at large to volunteer in local schools. CCSD volunteer applications are available online. Mentoring opportunities are available at Springfield Elementary, and interested parties are encouraged to contact Guidance Counselor Marcene Adkins (843-763-1540 or Mary_Adkins@charleston.k12.sc.us) for more information.
More Ways to Serve
St. Andrews Parish UMC offers a variety of other service opportunities such as Salkehatchie, Nursing Home Sing-Alongs and the Stephen Ministry. Please contact the church office for additional information.
